Aii identifies, funds and measures proven quality solutions to accelerate positive impact in the apparel and footwear industry. Aii programs focus on areas that result in positive environmental impact from the production of apparel and footwear products to improve the industry. Our current strategic focus in climate action is helping the industry reach their Science Based Targets commitment.

To date, Aii’s flagship Clean By Design programs have removed over 2 million tonnes of carbon emissions in the supply chain and unlocked over $100M in sustainable finance for factory improvements, (e.g. water stewardship, chemical management and energy efficiency). POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Sustainability Reporting Coordinator will be responsible for helping to fulfill and improve our internal and external sustainability reporting requirements, as well as supporting the deployment phase of our carbon and energy performance benchmark tool. This position will report directly to our Director of Sustainability Reporting, based in Central European Time, and work closely with them to ensure the organization is running smoothly. The projects may vary, but it is crucial that this person can coordinate and organize smoothly, work analytically, and communicate effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support internal and external impact reporting needs, including quarterly board meetings and annual impact reports to funding partners, with research, review, data analysis and report writing
  • Support the assurance process of our annual impact reports with research and creating relevant material
  • Support the deployment of our new carbon and energy performance benchmark tool by helping to set-up an operational framework for tool use and primary data collection, monitoring the tool’s performance, gathering user feedback, and providing training to relevant stakeholders
  • Lead Aii’s efforts among industry stakeholders to align impact reporting metrics and standards, e.g. with the Apparel Alliance
  • Lead staying up to date on best practices and regulatory requirements in sustainability reporting and provide competitor research to assist in making recommendations to reporting
  • Ad hoc projects and assigned duties, as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 1 years experience in a sustainability-related role
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Sustainability or Environmental Studies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical skills, team player and strong attention to detail
  • Organizational skills/project management skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
  • Comfort with complexity, ambiguity and a fast, start-up pace
  • Previous experience with impact reporting, ESG compliance, environmental sustainability and/or knowledge of the fashion industry is strongly preferred
